HAMMOND, La. – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's tennis team fell 5-2 to Southeastern Louisiana University in their first match of 2025.
 
"The girls did well," LSUA Head Coach Melinda Descant said. "We may have lost, but we pushed to the third set in most of the singles' courts."
 
Kanu Rajawat won the No. 2 Singles match over Bente Bierma (7-6, 6-1).
 
Gianna Panaggio captured a three-set victory over Panatchakorn Suanarsa in the No. 3 Singles. She took the first set 7-6, after taking the tie-break 7-3. Suanarsa took set two, 6-3, before Panaggio rallied to take the final set 10-5.
 
Belen Blasco forced the third set in the No. 5 Singles, but fell 7-6 on a 7-3 tie break. Blasco won the first set 6-4. Joline Roesch also went to three sets. She won the opener 6-3, before dropping sets two and three.
 
In No. 2 Doubles, Panaggio and Rajawat took down Aitana Darder and Leana Gomez, 7-5.
 
The Generals are back in action on February 15, when they travel to McNeese State.
