The LSU Alexandria campus is just south of the city of Alexandria, which is right in the heart of Louisiana. Most of Louisiana's other big cities are within just a two hour drive away from Alexandria. There are two main roadways to get to LSUA, Interstate 49 from Shreveport from the north and Lafayette/Opelousas to the south, and US Highway 165, also known as the Monroe Highway, from Monroe to the north and Lake Charles/Iowa to the south.
