LSUA Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2026 Announced

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria Athletics Department is excited to announce the 2026 LSUA Athletics Hall of Fame Class.

The induction will be held in The Outpost on Saturday, February 14 at 10:00 AM. Tickets will go on sale on lsuagenerals.com starting in December.

The 2026 class is the third class of inductees to the LSUA Athletics Hall of Fame. This year's inductees are Chandler Kammerer (Women's Soccer), Brian Okpala (Men's Soccer), Raquel Granados (Softball), and Mrs. Arlene and Dr. Paul Coreil (Meritorious Service).

"We are excited to induct our third class in the LSUA Athletics Hall of Fame," LSUA Assistant Vice Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics Tyler Unsicker said. "This year's class features not only student-athletes with distinguished playing careers, but administrators, as well as their significant others, who support athletics and what they do for not only our student-athletes but the impact athletics has on the university as a whole. Each of these inductees has left their mark on LSUA Athletics and have helped establish the foundation what we continue to build upon."

A four-year member of the Generals' back line, Kammerer appeared in 67 games from 2014 to 2017. She registered eight goals and one assist for 17 total points. She tallied a pair of game-winning markers, one in both 2016 and 2017. Kammerer earned All-RRAC First Team honors in 2017, as well as an LSWA All-Louisiana First Team selection. She was a member of the 2017 RRAC Regular Season Championship squad and was named the RRAC Defensive Player of the Year for 2017. Kammerer was selected to the LSUA Women's Soccer All-Decade Team this past summer.

Okpala made 58 appearances for LSUA over four seasons from 2015 to 2019. He notched nine goals for 18 points. He recorded four goals in back-to-back seasons in 2018 and 2019. Okpala earned a pair of First Team All-RRAC and RRAC All-Tournament Team selections in 2018 and 2019. He was selected to the LSUA Men's Soccer All-Decade Team this past summer.

Granados played from 2013 to 2016 for LSUA. She finished her career with 211 hits, 116 runs scored, 169 runs batted in, 24 home runs, and a slugging percentage of .604. She is second all-time in LSUA history in hits, doubles, runs scored, runs batted in, and home runs. Granados earned NAIA Second Team All-American honors in 2016. She was named an All-AII First Team selection in 2013 and All-RRAC First Team in both 2015 and 2016. Granados added an NFCA All-Region First Team nod to her accolades in 2016. She was selected to the LSUA Softball All-Decade Team this past summer.

Mrs. Arlene and Dr. Paul Coreil serve as the 14th Chancellor and First Lady of LSU Alexandria since 2019. The Coreils also served as the eighth Chancellor and First Lady of LSUA from 2013-14.  During his first stint as Chancellor, he was instrumental in adding Men's and Women's Soccer, Men's and Women's Basketball and Women's Tennis, expanding the athletic department from its initial two intercollegiate programs to the current seven. Throughout the Coreils' leadership, they have dedicated university and personal resources to the athletic department resulting in conference championships in Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer, Men's Basketball, Softball, Baseball, Tennis and many trips to NAIA National Tournaments.  Since joining LSUA in 2013, Coreil has been instrumental in boosting enrollment, improving retention, and ensuring the success of all students beyond graduation. His vision has been critical in positioning LSUA as a leader in higher education across central Louisiana through record enrollment numbers and the construction of new athletic and academic buildings. They continue to be avid fans of LSUA Athletics supporting the teams both at home and on the road.
