ALEXANDRIA, La. – Jayden Peglar and Meike van Straten of the Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's and women's soccer teams were named the Red River Athletic Conference Defensive Players of the Week.
 
It is the second time Peglar and van Straten have earned the accolade.
 
Peglar recorded two wins last week over Wiley and Oklahoma City University, including a 70-minute clean sheet over OKCU.
 
Van Straten made six saves in the Generals' 2-1 win over Oklahoma City University.
 
Both the men's and women's team play Mid-America Christian on Thursday, September 16.
