Lauf joined the Generals' staff in July 2026.
He spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at Lourdes University (Ohio). While on staff at Lourdes, the Gray Wolves produced 13 first team all-conference selections, one WHAC Player of the Year, two WHAC Newcomers of the Year, and an NAIA Second Team All-American. Lauf helped guide Lourdes to a pair of 20 win seasons on staff and earned an NAIA National Championship Opening round appearance in the 2024-25 season through an at-large bid.
Lauf spent four years as a player for the Gray Wolves and averaged 10.2 points and 4.4 assists per game.
