Kody Gautreaux

Gautreaux became the Generals' Head Coach on May 13, 2022, after serving as the Interim Head Coach during the 2022 season.He is in his third season as Head Coach.

The Generals finished the 2024 season with a record of 23-28, including a 16-14 mark in RRAC play. LSUA swept a doubleheader against No. 12 Kansas Welseyan University to open the season. Gautreaux earned his 100th win at LSUA with a 13-9 comeback victory over rival Louisiana Christian University on February 22. Blaise Foote became the all-time LSUA home run leader on March 27 with his 25th career home run. Foote earned Second Team All-RRAC honors and Zack Benevage was named to the RRAC Champions of Character Team.

In 2024, LSUA finished 22-23 with an 18-12 mark in RRAC play. The Generals slashed .305/.449/.424, hit 30 home runs, and drove in 313 runs. Blaise Foote earned his second RRAC First Team All-Conference selection. He slashed .396/.685/.536, hit nine home runs, and drove in 41 - leading the Generals in each category. Keagan Garcia earned Second Team All-RRAC honors, while Seth Trahan was named to the Champions of Character Team.

The Generals finished the 2023 campaign with a 34-18 record. They went 22-7 in RRAC games during Gautreaux's first season as Head Coach. He led LSUA to an RRAC Championship finals appearance. The Generals hit .302 as a team, while slugging .490, with an on-base percentage of .420. The LSUA pitching staff posted an ERA of 5.57 and a WHIP of 1.72. Blaise Foote earned  RRAC First Team All-Conference selection. Foote hit .390 over the 2023 season with 10 home runs and 53 runs batted in.He slugged .742 and had an on-base percentage of .497. Cameron Daigle also earned RRAC First Team All-Conference honors after posting a .367/.582/.482 slash line, he was also named to the Gold Glove Team. Peyton Marcantel earned All-RRAC Second Team honors and Reid Griffon was selected to the Champions of Character Team.

He led the Generals to a 33-14 regular season record in 2022, including a 25-8 mark in RRAC play, as the interim skipper before being elevated prior to the Generals' appearance in the NAIA Opening Round. After starting out 8-8, Gautreaux led the Generals to 25-6 record in the final 31 games of the season. LSUA claimed the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament title and earned the program's first NAIA Tournament berth since 2018. The Generals hit .305 in 2022, slugged .495, and posted an on-base percentage of .428. They clubbed 48 home runs and scored 436 runs. Jordan Ardoin led the Generals with a .371 batting average. Peyton Marcantel hit .359 in 2022 with an on-base percentage of .359.

Gautreaux spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons on the LSUA staff as an assistant coach. The 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his time in Tyler, Gautreaux helped lead the program to a 102-42 record, winning one conference championship (2017), making two regional appearances (2017, 2018) and capturing a Division III National Championship in the 2018 season before assisting the baseball program with the transition to Division II in the 2019 season.

While on staff, Gautreaux was responsible for coaching outfielders, assisting with coaching hitters, coaching first base (2017, 2018) and third base (2019) during games, and assisting with all other duties within the program. In his three years in Tyler, Gautreaux coached nine all-conference outfielders along with 20 all-conference selection hitters.

Gautreaux earned his bachelor’s degree from LSUA in general studies with a concentration in kinesiology along with minors in communication and psychology while also being a part of the baseball team from 2012-2016. After earning his bachelor’s degree, Gautreaux attended Northwestern State University online and earned his master degree in health and human performance with a concentration in health promotion in the August of 2019. He is a native of Lafayette, La.
