The Generals (3-4-2 overall, 2-1-1 RRAC) fought in a hard match against Texas A&M San Antonio coming away with a 1-1 tie.
Â
Gaining the lead in the first half by goal scorer,
Daniel Torrenegra, the Generals dominated the game while maintaining the tactics head coach,
Mackenzie Young, asked from them. The Jaguars were able to claw their way to a goal in the last minute of the game catching the defense by surprise with a break away for the equalizer.
Â
"We played very well in moments and has plenty of chances to put the game out of sight. TAMUSA were physical, and gave us a tough fight right until the end. Not the result we had in mind but there are positives to take into the next week."
Â
Coach Young has a lot of faith in his team and is leading them in the right direction. Soccer is a game of many successes and many mistakes. As the Generals fell short today conceding a tie, they prepare for next week against the LSUS Pilots. He speaks on his expectations for the following week:
Â
"I expect LSUS to be a fight from the first whistle to the last. They are a good team and this game means a lot to both programs. We will get back to work on Monday and be ready to go again on Thursday".
Â
The Generals will play on the road at LSUS on Thursday and return home on Saturday October 8
th vs Texas A&M Texarkana.
