ALEXANDRIA, LA- The Generals started off their opening day against the 11
th ranked Oklahoma City Stars, taking the series 2-0.
In
game one, Generals able to come out on top with an 8-3 win after facing NAIA All-American pitcher for the Stars, Eli Davis. Centerfielder,
Bryson Broussard, had the hot bat for the Generals as he had 4 RBIs in three at bats.
Seth Trahan was able to start 1-0 on the mound as he comes up with the win allowing only three hits for the Stars.
Game two, OCU started to come alive as they were able to put up 10 runs, but still not able to overcome the Generals as they were able to answer back with 15 runs of their own.
LSUA was able to get on the scoreboard first as they scored 3 runs in the 1st inning and were able to keep it rolling into the 2
nd inning up, 9-0 against the Stars.
Top of the 3
rd, Oklahoma's Chad Pike, homered bringing in Lenochan making it 2-9, but the Stars didn't stop there. Oklahoma able to keep things rolling as Trent Kiraly able to hit another bomb for the Stars in the 6
thinning with two on base, lifting them 10-9 over the Generals.
Still in the game, Generals able to score 3 runs in the six inning, and a huge bomb from
Peyton Marcantel in the 8
th secured the win.
Generals will play game 3 of the series back at home, January 28
th at 12:00 PM.
