SHREVEPORT, LA-For the first game of Red River Athletic Conference play the Generals started off on the road matching up with the Pilots of LSUS.
Generals kept pace with the 7
th ranked Pilots as they went into halftime only down 34-38. As they two teams battled back and forth in the second half, the Generals did not let up and kept it a close game right until the final seconds when Jason Perry had a fast break layup after a clutch steal from
Isaiah Howard.
With 9 seconds remaining, Pilots had the ball and a pressured step back mid-range jumper from Pilots, Flanagan fell in favor of the Pilots making it an 89-91 ball game with 1.2 seconds left. The Generals went for the Hail Mary, but the ball fell into the hands of the Pilots.
Kashie Natt left it all on the floor as he recorded yet another double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds.
JD Allen, another leading scorer for the Generals, came in right behind Natt with 19 points of his own.
The Generals will now move onto the Eagles of Texas A&M- Texarkana for the second match up of conference play. Tip off on December 2
nd is set for 4:00 PM.
