ALEXANDRIA LA- The Generals win big against red river rivals LSU Shreveport
Â
This game was a dog fight from start to finish, but the Generals were able to prevail and defeat LSU Shreveport 90-88. It would not be a rivalry game if it did not come down to the last seconds to decide the winning team.
Â
LSUA led for the majority of the game, and in the second half it looked as if the Generals were going to run away with a comfortable victory. LSU Shreveport made a great effort to come back, but the Generals were too strong in the end.
JD Allen was big offensively for the Generals once again by putting up 18 points, which included four 3-pointers.
Joe Ayo dominated the boards with a total of 11 rebounds.
Jeremy Richard was in true point guard mode from start to finish, and he ended up with 4 assists and 14 points of his own. Kasie Natt and
Jakemin Abney averaged 14 points between them. For the opposing team, last week's player of the week Jalen Brooks had 30 points on the night, but it was not enough to lift the Pilots over the Generals.
Â
Next up for the Generals is a trip to Hobbs, NM to take on Southwest in another huge conference battle. Tip off is 4:00 PM on Saturday, February 11th.Â
