Austin, TX - The Generals Take 2 Wins Home from Austin

LSUA were hoping for a sweep this weekend in a three-game series against the Huston Tillotson Rams, but it wasn't to be. The Generals managed to take game one and two, but game three slipped away.

Game 1:
After two scoreless innings, the Generals took the lead in the top of the 3rd. Cameron Daigle stepped up and hit a single, Zach Mengarelli advanced to second, and Alex Guilbeau got home to score and give the Generals a 1-0 advantage.
Alex Guilbeau was the only player to score for either team in the first 7 innings. This was testament to some great pitching from the Generals and the Rams. In the top of the 8th Joshua Tinnerello hit a bomb of a home run which also allowed Bryson Broussard and Trace Galloway to score. In the top of the 9th, the red-hot Joshua Tinnerello homered for a second time in two innings to carry his team to victory. The Generals had the bases loaded before Tinnerello swung out of his shoes. Reid Griffon, Bryson Broussard, and Blaise Foote all scored off the home run. Seth Trahan pitched a flawless 7 innings for the Generals. Brett Batteford and Kyler Carson also had success on the mound. The final score of game 1 was LSUA 8-0 Rams.

Game 2:
Game two was a lot better to watch for the neutral fan, as both teams put on a great display. LSUA raced to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st. Jordan Ardoin stepped up and doubled to right field which allowed Bryson Broussard to sprint home. Blaise Foote was next to bat and he done one better with a triple to left field which allowed Jordan Ardoin to score. Peyton Marcantel then followed with a triple of his own which allowed Blaise Foote to score.
In the top of the 3rd Blasie Foote hit a home run which allowed Jordan Ardoin to score and make it 5-0 to the Generals. The Rams scored twice in the bottom of the third to make it 5-2. Zach Mengarelli hit a triple in the top of the 4th which allowed Austin Manuel to get home and make it 6-2.
The Rams made it 6-3 in the bottom of the 5th, but in the next inning LSUA put on a batting clinic. Julien Kliebert doubled to center field which got Joshua Tinnerello home. Zach Mengarelli then returned the favor as he doubled to get Julien Kliebert Home. Bryson Broussard then put the cherry on top by hitting a huge home run that allowed Zach Mengarelli to score and make in 10-3. In the bottom of the 7th, the rams scored four times, and the game finished LSUA 10-7 Rams.

Game 3:
As the series went on, the games got closer and closer, and game three went right down to the wire. LSUA once again took an early lead, as Jordan Ardoin hit a home run in the top of the first to get Zach Mengarelli home. After a hot start, the Generals did not get on the scoreboard for the next 7 innings, but the Rams managed to score 7 times in that period. The score was 3-7 in favor of the Rams heading into the 9th inning, and this was LSUA's last chance to save the game. Blaise Foote hit a single which allowed Zach Mengarelli to score. Joshua Tinnerello then hit a single of his own to allow Bryson Broussard to score. Jordan Ardoin then got home after Hayes Trahan walked to first. The score was now 6-7, LSUA had the bases loaded, and LSUA had 2 outs. The tension was unbearable, but some good Rams' pitching managed to just about close the game out.
