Generals Score Double Digits in Double Header Sweep Against Xavier

NEW ORLEANS, LA- The Generals have brought the brooms back out once again as they moved to an overall record of 21-16 and 14-5 in conference play after sweeping the Gold Rush in New Orleans.
 
The Generals took game one 15-4 as they had a high scoring 3rd inning bringing in 8 of their 15 runs with the help of a grand slam from freshman, Jillian Howell. The Generals were able to out hit the Gold Rush 15-8. 
 
Moving into game two, the Generals got started early scoring four runs within the first 3 innings of play leading 4-0. With Savannah Boyd on the mound and the Generals defense behind her, they were able to hold strong keeping the Gold Rush to no runs, up until the 6thinning when the Gold Rush put up four runs making it a tied ball game.

However, the Generals hit a 7th inning spark putting up 7 more runs taking the lead 11-4.  Gold Rush able to bring around 2 more, but the Generals took care of business completing the sweep with a 11-6 win in game two. 
 
Up next for the Generals will be the Bulldogs of Jarvis Christian College on the road in Hawkins, TX. The double header is set to begin at 2:00 PM.
