ALEXANDRIA, LA- Labor Day for the Generals was spent out on the pitch taking on the undefeated Wildcats of Bethel University at home.Ā
Ā
The Wildcats were able to score a goal apiece in each half of play, while also taking care of things on the defensive side, shutting out the Generals as they fell, 2-0.
Ā
"I can't fault the boys for their efforts today", said Coach Young, "We played a top NAIA program and put in a good collective performance as a team. Of course, it's never good to lose a game, especially at home, but we got better today. A tough pre-season schedule for the boys in which we learned a lot about who we are. Now it's time to recover and prepare for the start of RRAC play. We will be ready to go on the 16th."
Ā
The Generals will have a long break and will be well rested as they won't see the pitch again until September 16
thĀ when they open up Red River Athletic Conference play against cross town rivals, Louisiana Christian University. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
