PREVIEW | Men's Soccer Aims to Continue Strong Stretch in Final Home Week

 ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's soccer hosts its final pair of home matches this week against the University of Houston-Victoria and Huston-Tillotson University.
 
"This week is a special week as we get to honor our senior players who have been fantastic servants to our program," LSUA Head Coach Mackenzie Young said. "It's always a nice day to recognize these players and all they have accomplished. Both games will be very tough, UHV are a top program that is always a battle. HTU are on a great run these last few games."
 
The Generals are 7-3-2 overall and 5-0-2 in Red River Athletic Conference play. They are 5-0-2 at home.

LSUA has won five of its last six games. Last week, they drew against LSU Shreveport, 2-2, and claimed a 1-0 victory over Texas A&M-Texarkana.
 
LSUA currently sits second in the conference table.
 
SCOUTING HOUSTON-VICTORIA
The Jaguars re 6-2-2 overall on the season, including a 4-2-1 record in RRAC matchups. They are 2-1-2 away from home. UHV recorded a pair of victories last week over Southwest (N.M.), 4-2, and Paul Quinn, 7-1. The Jaguars are currently tied for fifth in the conference table.
 
Dario Elsen leads the Jaguars' offense with five goals. Mathias Jorstad is the club's points leader with 12 (4G+4A=12TP). Baillie O'Reilly has recorded 10 points on three goals and four assists. Yahir Pena has tallied four goals. The Jaguars have utilized 14 different goal scorers, nine of them with multi-goal seasons. UVH have scored 30 goals on 166 shots.
 
Eric Thust and Tyler Kaepelli have handled the duties in goal for the Jaguars. Kaeppeli has made six starts to Thust's four. Kaeppeli is 4-2-1 on the season with one clean sheet. In 620 minutes of action he has recorded 39 saves and allowed nine goals for a goals against average of 1.31. Thust has logged 279 minutes in goal, allowed two goals, made two saves, and holds a goals against average of 0.64. The Jaguars have allowed 11 goals and 104 shots on the season.
 
The Generals are 4-5-1 against the Jaguars since 2018. They won the last meeting between the two sides, 1-0 in Victoria, Texas.

SCOUTING HUSTON-TILLOTSON
The Rams are 3-3-2 overall on the season and 2-3-1 in RRAC play. They are 1-2-0 away from home and have won their last two outings. They recorded a 2-0 win over UHV on Saturday, October5, and a 3-1 victory over Southwest (N.M.) on Saturday, October 12.
 
Albright Wesley Suh leads the Rams with four goals. Olivas Matias has scored a pair, while Jose Camarena, Octavio Lopez, Fritz Del Negro, Trenton Fannin, and Luis Uriostegui have each score one. The Rams have totaled 11 goals and 105 shots on the season.
 
Juan Acosta has handled the majority of time in goal for HTU. In six starts he has compiled 540 minutes of action. Acosta has made 35 saves and allowed 10 goals. He has earned a pair of clean sheets and has a goals against average of 1.67.

Admission to men's soccer games for spectators is free. The Generals Soccer Field is located on the back of LSUA's campus between Acorn Drive, Middleton Drive, and Tom Bowman Drive. Seating is located on the south side of the field. Game programs are available at the pitch.
 
Game Programs are available free of charge and can be found on the outside of the left ramp of the bleachers and in the center of the bleachers. Concessions are also available.
 
Saturday's match against Huston-Tillotson is Senior Day. The Generals will celebrate nine players who are appearing in their final season for LSUA prior to the start of the match.
