Men's Soccer Travels to Texas College, Jarvis Christian in RRAC Play

ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's soccer team travels to Texas College and Jarvis Christian University for a pair of Red River Athletic Conference matches.
 
"We had a much needed six-point weekend last week and we are looking to keep the momentum going into these next two games," LSUA Head Coach Mackenzie Young said. "Both of them are difficult places to go and get wins, so it's a huge week for us. The boys are in good spirits and we want to keep it that way."
 
The Generals (4-3-1, 2-0-1 RRAC) are coming off a pair of wins over Paul Quinn, 3-1, and the University of the Southwest (N.M.), 3-2.
 
SCOUTING TEXAS COLLEGE
The Steers are 3-4-0 on the season, including a 1-3-0 mark in RRAC play. They opened the season with a pair of wins before hitting a four-game skid. They bounced back with a 1-0 victory over Huston-Tillotson in their last outing.
 
Youssef Darraoui leads the Steers with two goals. Texas College has tallied five goals on the season. Darraoui and Nizar Mandali are tied for the team with six shots each. The Steers are averaging 1.00 goals per game and allowing 3.00 goals.
 
In goal, Younes Ezzaim has allowed made 30 stops.
 
The Generals are 8-1-0 all-time against Texas College. LSUA captured a 4-0 victory in 2023. The last time the Generals and Steers met in Texas, LSUA recorded a 7-1 victory.

Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 PM on Thursday, October 3.
 
SCOUTING JARVIS CHRISTIAN
The Bulldogs are 3-4-1 overall and 2-1-1 in RRAC play.  They are 1-1-1 in their last three matches and are coming off a 2-0 win over Our Lady of the Lake.
 
Cesar Hernandez leads Jarvis Christian with three goals and two assists for eight points. Daniel Sierra has six points (2G+2A=6TP). The Bulldogs have tallied 10 goals and allowed 10 on the season, averaging 1.25 goals per game on both ends.
 
In goal, Victor Morales has allowed eight goals in seven games and recorded 27 saves.
 
Historically, LSUA is 8-1-1 against Jarvis Christian. Last season, the Generals and Bulldogs played to a 2-2 draw in Alexandria. LSUA won the previous matchup in 2022, in Hawkins, Texas, 1-0.

Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 PM on Saturday, October 5.
