ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's basketball opens Red River Athletic Conference play at home against Jarvis Christian before heading on the road to face Texas A&M-Texarkana.
"This week is what we have been preparing for all preseason," LSUA Head Coach Billy Perkins said. "First week of conference, starting off with Jarvis Christian and ending the week with TAMUT."
The Generals are coming off a 67-65 victory over Ave Maria University. LSUA's win was the first time Ave Maria lost in the Tom Golisano Field House.
SCOUTING JARVIS CHRISTIAN
The Bulldogs are 0-1 on the season, falling to Florida Memorial in their only game, 88-37. They finished the 2023-24 season with a record of 12-15, including an 8-15 record in RRAC play.
Jarvis Christian struggled from the field against FMU, shooting just 16.7 percent. Jacy Reese led the Bulldogs with 10 points against Florida Memorial. Yvonne Foreman finished with nine points.
Last season, Reese averaged 10.7 points per game. She appeared in 27 games and made 17 starts. Raniya White averaged 8.9 points point game in 2023-24. She shot 39.1 percent from the floor. White made 27 appearances and 24 starts.
White is also the leading returning rebounder. She averaged 6.7 points per game, second on Jarvis Christian. Faith Robinson led the Bulldogs with 10.9 boards per game.
The Generals are 17-4 all-time against the Bulldogs. They have won the last three meetings and are 10-0 at home against Jarvis Christian.
Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM on Tuesday, November 12, at The Fort.

SCOUTING TEXAS A&M-TEXARKANA
The Eagles are 0-2 on the year, dropping games against Philander Smith and (RV) Langston.
TAMUT is averaging 53 points per game and shooting 35.4 percent from the floor. Kayla Williams leads the Eagles' offense with nine points per game. Allison Owens (7.5) and Evelyn Terraza Alcántar (7.0) round out the top three scorers for TAMUT.
Williams led the Eagles last season in scoring, averaging 17.2 points per game over 29 contests. She shot 43.5 percent from the field. TAMUT averaged 62.5 points in the last campaign and shot 37.4 percent from the floor as a unit.
Through two games, Williams is also leading the Eagles in rebounding. She is averaging eight boards per contest. As a team, TAMUT is hauling in 35 rebounds per game. Williams was the leading rebounded in 2023-24, as well. She averaged 10.6 rebounds, i
including two offensive boards a night.
The Generals are 7-3 against TAMUT since 2019. They have won the last two meetings against the Eagles.
Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 16, in Texarkana, Texas.
