No. 6 Generals Vanquish Steers, 88-76

ALEXANDRIA, La. – The No. 6 Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's basketball team won their sixth consecutive game, 88-76, over Texas College in a Red River Athletic Conference contest.
 
Kashie Natt led the Generals (6-0, 3-0 RRAC) with 14 points. He finished 6-for-9 from the field, 1-for-1 from deep, tallied seven rebounds, three blocks, two assists, and one steal. EJ McQuillan tallied 10 points. He went 3-for-5 from deep and added three steals. Isaiah Howard finished 4-for-8 from the field, including a 2-for-3 from range, for 10 points. Jason Perry II and Brayden Thompson each hauled in five rebounds.
 
LSUA shot 51.6 percent from the floor, including knocking down 13 threes. The Generals' bench chipped in 41 points.
 
LSUA opened the game with a 12-0 run. The Steers (1-2, 0-1 RRAC) ended their scoreless drought with a layup four minutes in. The Generals pushed their lead to 14, 20-6, on a three from Perry II two minutes later. Despite trailing by 14 with 5:20 remaining in the first half, the Steers whittled the Generals lead to three heading to the locker room at halftime, 41-38.
 
"I think Coach Dwayne [Harmason] did a great job of challenging our guys to be tougher [during halftime]," LSUA Head Coach Dimario Jackson said. "I think there were some moments where we weren't as tough as we needed or expected, or practiced to be. The guys did a great job answering the call."
 
A layup from Texas College on the opening possession of the second half made it 41-40, but the Generals scored 13 unanswered points over the next three minutes for a 54-41 lead.
 
Jordan Decuir landed a monster dunk with 8:47 to play, putting the Generals up 76-56. Their lead remained in double digits for the remainder of the contest.
 
LSUA held Texas College to a shooting percentage of just 38.4 in the second half, while the Generals shot 52.9 percent from the floor.
 
The Generals never trailed in the game, leading in the contest for all but 15 seconds.
 
LSUA has a seven-day break before the next RRAC meeting. They travel to Xavier University of Louisiana on Tuesday, November 26. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM in New Orleans.
