TEXARKANA, TX- The Generals have moved to an overall record of 7-1 and are now 1-1 in Red River Athletic Conference play after taking on the Eagles of Texas A&M-Texarkana splitting the double header.
GAME ONE: LSUA 7, TAMUT 2
Game one fell in favor of the Generals as the Eagles were able to strike first putting up one run in the first inning, but LSUA did what LSUA does, and got the bats rolling in the 3
rd inning of play. Fontenot's double to right field brought in Boyd, Jones, and Giddens to put the Generals on the board 3-1. After adding two more innings in the 3
rd, the Generals were able to score two more runs in the 4
th inning to put a 7-1 cushion between them and the Eagles.
Haley Primrose started and finished on the mound allowing only three hits, two runs, and struck out 6 of the 28 batters faced.
GAME TWO: LSUA 1, TAMUT 2
Game two was a much tighter matchup between the Generals and Eagles as both teams saw runs in the third inning making it a tied ball game 1-1. With the Eagles adding another run in the 5
th to take the lead, the Generals only had a few more at bats to try and regain the lead, however fell short.
Next up for the Generals will be the Steers of Texas College. The double-header action will take place at home on February 27
th, with first pitch being thrown at 2:00 PM.
