Generals Move to Second in Conference After Matchup with Jaguars

VICTORIA, TX- The Generals have moved to 20-8 overall on the season and 10-2 in conference play after two automatic wins due to a forfeit by Huston-Tillotson and a split in double-header action with the Jaguars of the University of Houston-Victoria.

GAME ONE: LSUA 1, UHV 9
The Generals offense did not fall in their favor as they struggled at the plate only getting 4 hits and their only run coming from Haley Primrose scoring on a passed ball.

GAME TWO: LSUA 9, UHV 6
A quick regroup before game two put the Generals back on track as they came out swinging. The Generals scored 3 runs in the first inning of play and three more in the second inning giving them a 6-0 lead before the Jaguars answered back with one run in the bottom of the second. Although the Generals went cold in the fourth through six innings of play, they were able to score their final three runs in the 7th inning taking game two of the series.

Fontenot, Giddens, and Primrose led the Generals at the plate with two hits apiece.

Savannah Boyd took the win in the circle for the Generals as she pitched the last 4 innings, allowing only two hits.

Next up, the Generals, currently tied for second in conference, will be back on the road for more conference play against the Steers of Texas College. The Generals will play at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 28th, and game two will follow.
