ALEXANDRIA, LA-The Generals moved to an overall record of 26-14 and 14-6 in conference play with a sweep in their match up with the Eagles of Texas A&M University-Texarkana.
With the added wins, Head Coach, Trent Partridge, also picked up his 50
th win since taking the reins last season. Partridge will be looking to pick up a couple more wins as they inch closer to the end of the season, wrapping up conference and soon heading into the conference tournament.
GAME ONE: LSUA 3, TAMUT 1
In game one,
Taylor Spencer was a force to be reckoned with as she pitched all seven innings for the Generals allowing only seven hits, one run, and striking out four.
When it came to putting up runs,
Haley Primrose got things going for the Generals as she doubled to centerfield bringing in
Madi Baker in the first inning of play. Then the Generals put up their next two runs in the 2
nd inning with a hard-hit ball by
Amber Giddens bringing in Jones and Layton.
Although the Generals couldn't put up any more runs during game one, strong pitching and defense held the Eagles to their one run in the 4
th inning.
GAME TWO: LSUA 5, TAMUT 2
Game two the Generals were able to get the bats going even more as
Madi Baker started things off with a double bringing in Fontenot, then soon making her way home off and error by the Eagles going up 2-0 coming out of the first. The Generals went on to score three more runs and held the Eagles to their two, completing the sweep.
Next up for the Generals is another round of Red River Rivalry games with the Louisiana Christian University Wildcats, this time at home. The first game is set to begin at 5:00 PM with game two following.
