ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's soccer team opens its Red River Athletic Conference slate with the Red Rivalry match against (RV) Louisiana Christian.
"We've have a decent non-conference schedule that has set us up well for conference play," LSUA Head Men's Soccer Coach
Mackenzie Young said. "LCU are a very good side that won the tournament last season and have started strong this season, so we are expecting aa tough game but the lads are excited for it."
The Generals (2-3-0) are coming off their final scrimmage of the year against Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
SCOUTING RV LOUISIANA CHRISTIAN
The Wildcats (2-1-1) host Wiley on Wednesday, September 18, in their final non-conference match of the season before making the trip across the river to take on the Generals. They fell to Williams Baptist 3-0 in their last match on September 4.
Pedro San Tiago and Adrian Amoros Navarro lead LCU's offense with a pair of goals each. San Tiago has tallied seven points (2G+3A=7TP), while Amoros Navarro added a pair of assists for six points (2G+2A=6TP). The Wildcats have a total of six different goal scorers on the young season. They have scored eight goals on 55 shots, 23 of which have been on goal.
Rodrigo Silva has made all four starts in the woodwork for the Wildcats. He has allowed five goals on 22 shots, while making nine saves. In 342:16 in net, he has posted a goals against average of 1.31. Juan Diego Ramirez made one appearance in relief, notching one save on six shots.
Louisiana Christian is averaging 2.00 goals per game and holding opponents to 1.25.
Since 2015, LCU is 1-5-1 against the Generals. They captured a 3-0 victory last season in Pineville, the program's first ever win against LSUA. Amoros Navarro recorded a goal and an assist. Silva recorded a clean sheet.
In the series' only two meetings in Alexandria, the Generals are 1-0-1 against LCU. In 2022, LCU and LSUA played to a 0-0 draw after 2021's 3-0 LSUA victory.
Kick-off is slated for 3:30 PM on Saturday, September 21 at the Generals Soccer Field.

Admission to men's soccer games for spectators is free. The Generals Soccer Field is located on the back of LSUA's campus between Acorn Drive, Middleton Drive, and Tom Bowman Drive. Seating is located on the south side of the field.
In attendance for Saturday's match against will be the LA Krewe Rush Alexandria, a local soccer travel club.
