STAFFORD, TX – Kelly Norris and
Princis Goff led the Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's basketball team with 11 points each, but LSUA fell to North American University, 64-55.
The Generals (2-5, 1-1 RRAC) shot 36.5 percent from the floor and recorded 38 rebounds.
Reese Stephens recorded a team-high six assists. Both Norris and Goff knocked down four baskets.
Justice Young led the Generals with nine rebounds. LSUA scored 28 points in the paint, 14 points off turnovers, and the bench chipped in 19 points. They recorded 28 turnovers.
"Tonight, we just had too many mistakes to overcome," LSUA Head Coach Billy Perkins said. "We just have to reset and ready for the next one."
North American University had three players finish in double digits. Maurdaisha Powell recorded a team-high 14.
LSU stormed out to a nine-point lead in the first five minutes of the game with a 9-0 run. The first quarter ended tied at 11, however.
The second quarter was just as tight with the Generals having a 15-14 edge to head into the locker room with a 26-25 lead.
North American out scored LSUA 39-29 in the third and fourth quarters for the victory.
LSUA returns home for a pair of Red River Athletic Conference games next week against LSU Shreveport and Texas A&M-Texarkana.
