NEW ORLEANS -- The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team split its doubleheader with No. 21 Loyola University of New Orleans. The Generals (3-4) claimed a 4-3 victory in game one before falling 15-1 in game two.

Lane Patin was able to get a pitch in the middle of the plate and hit it for a home run to put us ahead. The second gam we just didn't throw enough strikes to give us a chance to win. All in all, I felt like we competed this weekend and our team is getting better."
GAME ONE | LSUA 4, LOYOLA 3 (7 INNINGS)
Lane Patin's two-run home run in the top of the seventh lifted the Generals over the Wolf Pack in the opening game.
Carter Fabre (1-0) earned the win in relief.
Kyler Carson earned his second save of the season.
Brenyn Ebarb hurled five innings and allowed two runs on four hits. He struck out one and walked two. Fabre allowed one run on one hit.
Patin went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run.
Dezmon Dugas finished 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Keegan Garcia also drove in a run.
Landon Langley recorded a pair of hits.
Loyola scored the game's first run in the third inning. A ground out brought the runner in from third for a 1-0 lead.
The bats remained quiet on both ends until the Generals stuck in the sixth. A lead-off infield single for
Zach Mengarelli was followed by a walk from
Blaise Foote.
Peyton Marcantel lifted a fly out to right field, advancing Mengarelli to third. A sacrifice bunt from Garcia brought Mengarelli in, tying the game at 1-1.Dugas then brought Foote in from third, after he advanced on a passed ball, with a single up the middle, giving LSUA their first lead of the game, 2-1.
Loyola tied the game in the bottom of the inning on a wild pitch and brought around a go-ahead run on an infield single for a 3-2 lead.
A one-out single from Langley in the seventh inning brought Patin to the plate. He delivered his first round tripper of the season to put the Generals ahead 4-3.
Carson set the Wolf Pack down in order in the seventh for the save.
GAME TWO | LSUA 1, LOYOLA 15 (7 INNINGS)
Blaise Foote drove in the Generals' lone run as LSUA fell 15-1.
Foote, Dugas, and Evan Rohlfs-Schadel recorded LSUA's three hits.
William Vice (0-1) was charged with the loss. He allowed four runs on four runs, three earned, over two innings.
The Generals were held scoreless until the sixth inning. Foote drove Patin with a single.
A two-run single in the bottom of the second inning gave the Wolf Pack a 2-0 lead. Loyola scored two in the third, four in the fifth, and seven in the sixth.

The Generals head to the Cajun Collision next week, hosted by LSU Shreveport, in Sterling, Louisiana. They open play against Tabor College (Kan.) on Friday, February 7, at 11:00 AM.
