AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 2 Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's basketball team won its 16th consecutive game with an 85-57 win over Huston-Tillotson University.

"Great job by our guys putting two halves together," LSUA Head Coach Dimario Jackson said.  "That was the challenge and they accepted it. Head down, back to work!"

Kashie Natt led the Generals (21-1, 18-1 RRAC) with 24 points in just 20 minutes of play. He shot 80% from the floor, including a 3-for-4 mark from long range, and went 5-for-5 at the free throw line. Jordan Decuir finished with 19 points, while Jakemin Abney added 10. LSUA scored 32 points in the paint, 28 points off turnovers, nine second chance points, 16 points on fastbreaks, and the bench recorded 48.

LSUA kept the Rams (6-15, 6-13 RRAC) at 30 points or below in each half.

Through the first seven minutes of play, the game was even at 12-12. A 7-0 from the Generals, with a layup from Abney, a three-point play from Kaleb Pouncy and a dunk from Decuir, put them ahead 19-12.

With eight-and-a-half minutes left in the first, the Rams tied the game again at 20-20. After they took a slim lead, 24-20, the Generals stormed back on a 23-6 run to take a 43-30 lead into halftime.

The Generals reached their first 20-point lead of the contest midway through the second half with a pair of free throws from Natt, 64-44.

Huston-Tillotson curbed LSUA's lead down to 16, but the Purple and Gold responded with six consecutive points for a 23-point, 73-51 advantage.

Jayce Tolivar drained a three and Keyon Giroir converted a layup inside the final two minutes. Kheiri Haynes made a pair of free throws for the Generals' final points.

The Purple and Gold are back in action Tuesday, February, to kick-off a three-game week. They face Xavier (La.) in The Fort at 7:30 PM.
