Softball Sweeps Mustangs in RRAC Doubleheader

HOBBS, NM – The No. 15 Louisiana State University of Alexandria softball team swept its doubleheader against the University of the Southwest (N.M.), 1-0 and 14-0.

"We knew coming into this game the weather was going to play a huge factor," LSUA Head Coach Trent Partridge said. "30 MPH winds can do some wicked things to a softball and it did. Happy to get two wins, the girls played hard and accepted the challenging weather. Game one was a pitchers' duel that ultimately ended our way. Game two we made adjustments and pulled away late."

GAME ONE | LSUA 1, USW 0 (EIGHT INNINGS)
Haley Primrose (12-2) threw an eight-inning complete game shutout as the Generals (20-2, 8-0 RRAC) took down the Mustangs (4-20, 0-4 RRAC).

Primrose allowed just one hit and struck out 10 over eight innings. She struck out the side in the second and seventh innings. The Mustangs managed just two base runners

Madi Baker and Primrose collected a pair of hits each at the plate.

LSUA's lone run came on a two-out RBI single in the eighth from Kaetlyn Dunbar. She drove in Baker from third.

Kilee Moody and Primrose drove in a trio of runs each. Primrose, Julia Kwakernaak, Dunbar, and Jillian Howell each picked up two hits.
