NATCHITOCHES, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team fell to NCAA Division I Northwestern State University, 3-0, in an exhibition.
"Proud of our guys for competing well on the road," said LSUA Head Coach Kody Gautreaux. The game turned out to be a pitching heavy game and weren't able to capitalize when we had runners on base. Our three pitchers did a fantastic job of keeping them off balance and holding their offense to a few runs. We are excited to get back out there this weekend."
The Generals collected five hits offensively and allowed just four.
Julien Kliebert,
Blaise Foote,
Jaxon Bernard,
Keegan Garcia, and
Lane Patin all notched hits.
Foote got the start on the mound and tossed 3.2 innings. He allowed three runs on three hits. Foote struck out one and walked four.
LSUA loaded the bases in the first with a double from Kliebert, a walk from
Zach Mengarelli, and a single from Foote. The Demons rolled a double play to end the inning and escape damage.
All three of the Demons' runs came in the fourth inning. A solo homerun and a two-run single to left.
Brenyn Ebarb hurled 3.1 innings of shutout relief and allowed just one hit and a walk. He struck out five.
Colin Ardoin tossed a clean eighth inning and struck out one.
The Generals host Huston-Tillotson University on Friday, April 18, and Saturday, April 19. Senior Day recognitions will be held prior to first pitch on Saturday.
