ALEXANDRIA, LA – Haley Primrose threw a no-hitter and the No. 8 Louisiana State University of Alexandria softball team scored an LSUA record 28 runs in game one of a doubleheader sweep of Texas College, 28-0 and 9-1.
"Overall it was a great day," said LSUA Head Coach Trent Partridge. "Coming out today we wanted to swing the bats hard, that was our main focus. Anytime that we swung the bat we wanted it to be hard.

Primrose (21-4) was lights outs in the circle. She walked just two and struck out four. Primrose also rolled 10 ground ball outs. Her no-no is the first since
Taylor Spencer's no hitter against William Carey in 2023.
"It's a lot easier to go out and pitch when the offense is doing what they do and setting records," said Primrose. "It's fun to play with this defense on the field, so I just filled up the zone and let them work."
Texas College (1-25, 1-24 RRAC) only managed a base runner in the first, second, and third innings.
The Generals' (41-5, 22-2 RRAC) scored 13 runs in the first inning with RBI hits from six different players, including a pair of RBI triples from
Kaetlyn Dunbar and
Jillian Howell.
LSUA tacked on five in the second, three in the third, and seven in the fourth.
Julia Kwakernaak launched her 11
th home run of the season in the second, a two-run shot. Kwakernaak collected an RBI single in the third and a two-run double in the fourth.
Kwakernaak finished 4-for-5, scored four times, and drove in six. Baker, Dunbar, and Howell all drove in three.
Kilee Moody,
Summer Brumley, Primrose, and
Kassidy Tucker all drove in a pair. The Generals collected 26 hits.
GAME TWO | LSUA 9, TC 1
The Generals tallied 14 hits and put up crooked numbers in the first, third, and fourth innings.
Kirsten Martinez (4-0) tossed a complete game and allowed just one hit. She struck out four and did not issue a free pass. Martinez rolled seven ground ball outs.
Texas College got on the board first in the opening frame, driving in a run on a productive ground out.
LSUA evened the score with an infield single to drive in Fontenot. A sacrifice fly from Primrose drove in Baker for a 2-1 lead. Dunbar added a third run with an RBI single before Moody launched a line drive solo shot to left field for a 4-1 lead.
A two-run home run from Fontenot down the left field line in the fourth made it 7-1. A pair of RBI doubles from Kwakernaak and Primrose gave LSUA the run-rule victory, 9-1.
