VICTORIA, TX – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team fell in both games of their doubleheader to the University of Houston-Victoria, 8-3 and 10-0.
"This weekend was tough," said LSUA Head Coach Kody Gautreaux. "Credit to UHV for playing well. We have to flush it and get prepared for the postseason."
GAME ONE | UHV 8, LSUA 3
The Generals (23-26, 16-14 RRAC) scored on three RBI singles in three separate innings.
Josh Pierce (6-6) was charged with the loss. He allowed four runs on six hits. Pierce struck out six and walked two.
Blaise Foote,
Judge Boudreaux,
Brett Batteford, and
Lane Patin all recorded a pair of hits. Boudreaux, Batteford, and Patin each had an RBI. The Generals recorded 11 total hits.
The Jaguars (37-13, 22-8 RRAC) opened the scoring with three runs in the first. LSUA's first run came in the third on an RBI single from Boudreaux.
After UHV tacked on another run in the fourth, Batteford drove in Foote with a single to left to cut the score to 4-2. An RBI single from Patin brought
Colin Ardoin across the plate in the sixth, bringing LSUA within one run.
A pair of RBI singles and a wild pitch plated three runs for the Jaguars in the sixth for an 8-3 victory.
GAME TWO UHV 10, LSUA 0
LSUA managed only two hits in their regular season finale.
Julian Garcia (7-3) went seven innings for the Jaguars, struck out ten, and allowed just two hits.
Brenyn Ebarb (1-6) was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs on nine hits over four innings.
Kliebert and
Landon Langley had the only hits for LSUA.
The Jaguars scored at least one run in each of the first five innings for a 9-0 lead. They triggered the run rule in the seventh on an RBI double to center field.
