Baseball Swept by No. 1 LSU Shreveport

ALEXANDRIA, LA - The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team was swept by No. 1 LSU Shreveport, 6-1 and 14-3.
 
GAME ONE | LSUS 6, LSUA 1
LSUS (17-2, 5-0 RRAC) struck first in the top of the opening inning as Carlos Sanchez launched a lead-off solo home run to left-center field to give the Pilots an early 1–0 lead.
 
The Generals (14-7, 3-2 RRAC) got the equalizer in the second inning after Dalton Wilson crossed the plate following a throwing error.
 
The Pilots added on two runs to take the lead with a Sanchez single to left field, followed by a pair of errors on the play, allowing both Quaterrion Walton and Sanchez to score. A few batters later, Makana Olaso singled to left field allowing Spencer Sullivan to score.
 
LSUS added to the advantage in the fourth and fifth scoring two runs, making it 6-1.
 
Brock Lucas gets the win on the mound (3-0) facing 22 batters and striking out six over 6.0 innings pitched. Seth Leger (2-1) took the loss on the mound for the Generals allowing four earned runs over 5.0 innings pitched. He allowed nine hits and struck out one.
 
GAME TWO | LSUS 14 , LSUA 3
The Pilots (18-2, 6-0 RRAC)opened the scoring in the second inning with a sacrifice fly from Quaterrion Walton to take a 1–0 lead. LSUA (14-8, 3-3 RRAC) answered in the bottom half of the inning, as Lane Kratzer and Blake Moss crossed the plate on errors to give the Generals a 2–1 advantage.
 
LSUS exploded in the fifth for eight runs. Olaso started the rally with a two-run home run to left-center field. Dorian Jackson followed with a single before Walton worked a bases-loaded walk to force in another run. Sanchez then delivered the decisive blow with a grand slam to left-center, extending the lead to 9-2.
 
Continuing to add on in the fifth inning, the Pilots scored four runs by Sanchez, Sullivan, Landon Hunt and Sebastian Harden. In the seventh, Dorien Jackson scored on a wild pitch making it 14-2.
 
Joshua Tinnerello grounded out to first base allowing Trevor Dooley to hit home plate and close the scoring at 14-3.
 
Robert Lastra (2-1) took the win on the mound facing eight batters and striking out four over 2.2 innings pitched. Carter Fabre (2-2) took the loss on the mound for the Generals allowing nine earned runs over 3.1 innings pitched. He allowed 10 hits and struck out one.
 
The Generals travel to Lake Charles for a one-game matchup against McNeese State University on Wednesday.
