STERLINGTON, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria baseball team split their games on the last day of the Cajun Collision.
GAME ONE | HC 9, LSUA 1
The Broncos (2-2) started off the first inning with Evan Morrison clubbing a three-run home run for an early lead.
In the bottom of the third,
Evan Rohlfs-Schadel scored the Generals' (6-5) lone run on a pop out.
Hastings College's offense got going again when Kaden Steen homered in the fourth. A few pitches later, wild pitches allowed two more runs to cross.
Nick Deterding scored on a bases loaded walk in the sixth, before a double steal allowed the Broncos' final two runs to score.
GAME TWO | PU 5 , LSUA 9
The Generals combined for 10 hits and pushed across nine runs in their second game of the day.
Joshua Tinnerello,
Zack Berry, and
Cameren Parks notched two hits each. Tinnerello and Cade LaBruyere each drove in a pair of runs.
Nash Tamplet (1-0) earned his first win on the mound. He threw a complete game and struck out 11.
Park University (2-2) started the scoring in the first on a fielder's choice. The Generals made it equal when
Lane Patin hit a sacrifice fly to bring Tinnerello home in the second.
Keeping the momentum going, LSUA plated three runs in the third – capped by an RBI double from Tinnerello.
Cameren Parks got things going for the Generals in the top of the fourth, with a single to left field which brought
Dalton Wilson in. LaBruyere wasn't far behind with a single to center field, bringing in two. The last single of the inning for the Generals came from Tinnerello, which allowed LaBruyere to score.
The Pirates combined for four runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth inning.
Zack Berry closed closed the Generals' scoring in the seventh, making the final score 9-5.
