Women's Basketball Notches Senior Day Victory Over Jarvis Christian, 82-56

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria women's basketball team captured an 82-56 win over Jarvis Christian University on Senior Day.
 

 
Sydney Person led the Generals (11-12, 10-8 RRAC) with 25 points. The freshman from Houston, Texas shot 12-for-17 from the field and recorded six rebounds. Senior Princis Goff recorded 17 points and went 5-for-8 from long range. Goff notched a double-double, hauling in 11 rebounds. LSUA recorded 36 points in the paint, 37 points off turnovers, and the bench recorded 17 points.
 
The Generals led for 38:34, 96.4-percent of the contest.
 
After trading buckets for the first four possessions, LSUA took a 7-2 lead on a layup from Person and never looked back.
 
Layups from Addison Walker and Courtlynn Rideau, as well as a three from Goff, gave the Generals their first double-digit lead of the contest, 17-7.
 
A late 7-0 run for the Bulldogs brought the game within three at the end of the first quarter, 17-14. The Bulldogs kept the second quarter to a single-digit gap, headed into the locker room with LSUA leading 33-26.
 
Kelly Norris and Reese Stephens notched a layup and three on the Generals' first two possessions of the third, pushing the Generals' lead to 38-28.
 
LSUA's lead dipped into single digits just once in the third and was quickly sent back to a double-digit spread.
 
In the fourth, the Generals' lead ballooned to 20 with 7:20 left In regulation on a three from Person. LSUA reached their largest lead of the contest on a trey from Goff for a 29-point differential with 3:34 remaining.
 
The Generals host Texas A&M-San Antonio and Our Lady of the Lake University next week for Homecoming.
