VICTORIA, TX - The Louisiana State University of Alexandria softball team took their series against Texas A&M-Victoria, two games to one, with a 9-1 victory in the series finale.

"The girls came out with a great energy and intensity today," LSUA Head Coach Trent Partridge said. "We knew we didn't play LSUA softball in game two and we had something to prove to ourselves. I'm extremely proud of how they responded."

LSUA wasted no time setting the tone, erupting for five runs in the opening inning.
Haley Fontenot got things started by crossing the plate on an RBI single from
Kilee Moody to give the Generals (25-14, 17-4 RRAC) a 1-0 lead. Moments later,
Jillian Howell delivered with a single up the middle to score Moody and extend the advantage.

The Generals continued to put runs on the scoreboard as
Kaetlyn Dunbar ripped a double to left field, bringing home both
Livie Thibodeaux and Howell to make it 4-0.
Molly Sistrunk followed with a double of her own, plating Dunbar and capping off a five-run first inning that put LSUA in a comfortable position.

The Jaguars (22-14, 13-8 RRAC) scored their only run in the bottom of the first. On a fly out to right field, Sianna Miller scored on a two-base throwing error.

LSUA added to its lead in the second inning, capitalizing on a Jaguar error.
Sophia Romero came around to score after Moody reached on a throwing error and advanced to third, pushing the lead to 6-0. Thibodeaux then lifted a sacrifice fly to center, allowing Moody to tag and score, extending the lead to 7-0.

Dunbar continued her outstanding performance at the plate, launching a solo home run to left field to make it 8-0. Romero singled to left, driving in
Caitlyn Riche and giving LSUA a commanding 9-1 advantage.

In the circle, LSUA used a trio of pitchers to secure the shutout victory. Kristen Martinez got the start and allowed one run on two hits and two walks. She was relieved by
Rylee Guillot, who came in and earned the win, making her 7-0 for the season. She delivered 2.1 strong innings, allowing just one hit while keeping the Jaguars off the scoreboard.
Lainee Bailey closed things out with an impressive performance, striking out three batters over two innings while allowing just one hit and no runs to seal the run-rule victory.

For Texas A&M-Victoria, Kailea Freeman took the loss after surrendering five runs in 0.1 innings of work. Madelyn Butler followed, allowing three runs over 1.2 innings, while Haley Noska provided some stability, giving up one run across the final three innings.
