PREVIEW | Men's Soccer Travels to Blue Mountain Christian for 2026 Season Opener

ALEXANDRIA, LA – The Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's soccer team opens the 2026 season on the road against Blue Mountain Christian University.

THE GENERALS
LSUA posted a 14-4-1 record in 2025, including a 9-1-1 mark in Red River Athletic Conference play. The Generals were 7-2-0 away from home. They received an at-large bid to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round.
 
The Purple and gold scored 50 goals last season and held their opponents to just 20. They averaged 2.63 goals per game and 15.8 shots per game. Ben McCarron returns after leading the Generals with nine goals last season for 18 points. He scored three game-winning goals.
 
Defensively, the Generals recorded eight clean sheets as a team in 2025. They allowed just 64 shots on frame.
 
SCOUTING BLUE MOUNTAIN CHRISTIAN
The Toppers finished the 2025 season with a record of 4-11-2. They went 2-6-1 in Southern States Athletic Conference games and were 2-4-2 when playing at home.
 
BMCU scored 17 goals during last season's campaign and allowed 35. Opponents averaged 2.19 goals per game and 12.9 shots. Dipanda Silva Jr. led the Toppers with three goals and one assist for seven points. Daniel Nunes also finished with seven points as well, adding two goals and three assists.
 
Luan Nascimento made 12 starts in goal for BMCU. He allowed 29 goals for a goals against average of 2.52 while making 45 saves.
 
LSUA is 1-0-0 all-time against Blue Mountain Christian. The Generals recorded a 4-0 win over the Toppers last season in Alexandria with a pair of goals from Pablo Dominguez de Leon and one from Paul Adler and Mackenzie Vincent.
