HATTIESBURG, MS – The (RV) Louisiana State University of Alexandria men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against No. 8 William Carey University.

Mackenzie Young said. "Every one of them to a man were brilliant. William Carey are one of the best teams in the country and are going to go far this year. We'll enjoy that, but have another huge game in a short space of time to prepare for."
Ben McCarron's equalizer came in the 78
th minute, quieting the hometown crowd, despite the Crusaders' (4-0-1) efforts to rebuff the Generals (2-1-1).
First half chances were limited witch either team filing away three shots apiece.
Juan Buitrago put the Generals' only shot on goal in the 34
th minute, only to be turned aside by Yago Darub.
Things got hairy in the second half for the Generals with a trio of shots from the Crusaders which went wayward.
Jayden Peglar stymied an effort in the 68
th minute from Souleymane Balde to keep the score 0-0.
One minute later, Teddy Miranda broke the deadlock and gave the Crusaders a 1-0 lead.
Ben McCarron equalized in the 78
th minute, pulling the Generals equal.
In the game's final minute, Peglar kept the game even with a stop on Daniel Mulero.
The Generals take on the University of Mobile in Hattiesburg on Sunday, September 6, at 4:00 PM.
