Louisiana State University at Alexandria

Before joining the General’s staff, Coach Smith was a volunteer assistant coach for the AUM Warhawks, after lettering for the team for two years. Before playing for the Warhawks, Smith played two seasons at Enterprise State Community College.  During his time at AUM, Smith posted a 10-2 record and a 3.96 earned run average in 29 appearances. In 102 1/3 innings, he allowed only 94 hits, while striking out 76 batters. His opponent’s batted an average of just .245 during his career. During his high school career at Chapel High School he set the record for career strikeouts, ERA, and victories.  A 2011 graduate of AUM, Smith earned his bachelor’s degree in human resources and earned his masters of education in sports management this past August. The General’s feel he is going to be a great addition to the staff.

Coach Smith was also the pitching coach for the Hornell Dodgers of the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) this past summer. His team finished 38-8 and won the league championship. He led the pitching staff to an ERA of 2.96.
