Perkins joined the Generals' staff in August 2022.

The 2023-24 season marked the second season for Perkins as the on the Generals' staff. She helped guide LSUA to a 23-8 overall mark, including a 19-3 record in RRAC play.. It was the most wins in a single season for the women's basketball program, eclipsing the 2018-19 mark of 22. Dannah Martin-Hartwick (First Team), Jewel Jones (Second Team), Benedetta Perachhi (Honorable Mention), and Amani Gray (Honorable Mention) earned RRAC All-Conference selections. Martin-Hartwick was selected to the Champions of Character Team. The Generals averaged 69.6 points per game and held a 12.9 scoring margin.

In her first season at LSUA, Perkins guided the Generals to a 12-16 record with an 11-9 mark in RRAC play. Dannah Martin-Hartwick (First Team), Alex Harrison (Second Team), Raegan Ojoro (Honorable Mention), and Amani Gray (Honorable Mention) earned RRAC All-Conference honors. Martin-Hartwick earned a Champions of Character Team selection.

Prior to LSUA, she was the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coach at Central Community College. While on the Central staff, Perkins helped guide the program to its first Region IX Championship in 2018-19 and coached the program's first JCAA All-American player As the Strength and Conditioning Coach, Perkins oversaw the implementation of annual training programs for all Central sports including basketball, soccer, volleyball, and golf.

Perkins played for Sul Ross State University during her collegiate playing career. She was a team captain for two years, earning the Curtis Bozarh Leadership Award. Perkins earned All-Conference Honorable Mention accolades, as well as earning Team MVP. She was a three-time Academic All-Conference selection.

Perkins is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Se received her BS in Kinesiology from Sul Ross State, where she graduated Suma Cum Laude, and her MS in Health and Human Performance from the University of the Cumberlands.
