ALEXANDRIA - LSUA Generals hosted this years Red River Rivalry of Rapides between the Generals and Wildcats. The intense battle saw the game end in a 0-0 draw giving each team a single point to add to their tally in the table standings.
Â
Coach Young had trust in his team going into the match, "Going into the game I felt confident in us. We had a great week of practice and I always believe in our team to go out and get 3 points. LCU are a fantastic team and they have shown that over the course of the season. I knew we would be in a fight for 90 minutes".
Â
Throughout the match the Generals had numerous chances to put the game away but missed opportunities led the generals to let the match slip through their grasp. LSUA's best chance came in the 2
nd half when
Danny Stevens chipped a shot over the goalie hitting the post. Both Goalies made several good saves throughout the game to preserve the clean sheet.
Â
Coach Young still has high hopes and goals for the Generals this season as he states "This result is more than a positive one. Of course, it was not the 3 points we had set out to get. However, as mentioned I feel as though there are many positives to take into the remaining games as we showed in several moments that we could have won the game."

Continuing their hard trainings and preparations for the last few games, the Generals charge up again this week to face the Southwest Mustangs on Thursday, October 20
th at home.
