ALEXANDRIA – The Generals (3-2-3 RRAC) came out like a team on a mission in dispatching the visiting Mustangs (2-2-4 RRAC) 4-0 in a pivotal Red River Athletic Conference game.
LSUA has struggled their last four games putting the ball in the back of the net having only scored twice in those four contests resulting in three ties and a loss. The Generals came out with urgency to get back in the win column.
Daniel Torrenega set the tone for the Generals scoring an early penalty kick in the 13th minute for his first goal of the game. He would strike again in the 23
rd minute when LSUA goalkeeper
Valeriu Tarlev punted a deep ball down the right side over the defense. Winger
Paul Adler chased it down in the corner and made a great cross to Torrenegra for the one touch finish putting the home team up 2-0.
The Generals were able to get a third goal right before the half on a corner from
Enrique Ruiz Diaz that was placed on the near post where senior
Keelin Foley was able to put a head on it and give LSUA a comfortable lead going into halftime.
Torrenegra was able to complete the hat trick in the second half on a pass from
Manuel Concetti before both teams emptied the benches to finish out the half and give the Generals a much needed 3 points in the standings moving them up to fifth place.
LSUA will play their final regular season home game on Saturday October 22nd at 3:30 versus Paul Quinn. The Generals will also say good bye to 13 seniors who will play their final game at Generals field.
