Seven Different Generals Score in 7-1 Victory Over Texas College

ALEXANDRIA - The LSUA Generals (5-6-4) faced the Texas College Steers (1-8-2) on the road in Longview, Texas, breaking the losing streak and bringing home a 7-1 win.

The Generals have had a tough week, facing hardships no student-athletes should have to face. Former teammate, friend and brother, Austin Madubuike, passed away last Sunday, leaving the Generals broken. This game meant more for them than just the victory. They knew they had to come together for Austin, and play united for him.

The Generals did indeed take the victory. Seven different Generals were able to find the back of the net. Joao Leonel, coming back from injury, was able to score his first goal of the season and opened up the scoring for the game. Captain Keelin Foley, was able to find the back of the net a couple minutes later, making the score 2-0.

The Steers found the Generals net once and made the score 2-1. Not long after, General, Daniel Torrenegra added to the score board. His teammates, Sithabisa Madonsela, Danny Stevens, Campbell Shiels, and Zac Grima following him on the scoreboard, were all able to make final score 7-1.

Not only was the score so crucial, but Danny Stevens had a couple words to say about his and his team's performance, as a big moment in the game was when Stevens pulled out the #18 jersey to represent Austin Madubuike:

"I just knew I had to score for my brother, he always wanted us to shine and today was a nice moment, hopefully for him watching too".

This was a big win for the Generals, giving them the boost of confidence they needed. The Generals will play at Jarvis Christian College for their last conference game on Saturday, October 29th.
