The LSUA men's basketball team moved on to 2-0 tonight following their 113-99 victory against the Fort Lauderdale Eagles.Ā

Tonight's leading scorerĀ for the Generals, a junior from Brookhaven, MS,Ā JD Allen, had 20 points in 20 minutes. He stated, "I played well, but I think I can do better overall. At the end of the day, I do whatever I can to help the team win."

Offensively the Generals had a great night, shooting 52% from three, to help secure their win over the Eagles. Aside from JD Allen,
Jakemin Abney also had another great game scoring 19 points of his own going 3-3 from three, and right behind him with 17 points was Jason Perry. The Generals also took full advantageĀ of getting to three throw line going 22-31.Ā

On the defensive side, Kashie Natt was able to come in and grab 14 of the 39 boards for the Generals.Ā

"We did not defend the Fort like we wanted to," said Coach Cordaro, "but we outscored a very tough, well coached team. The players were amazing offensively, give them all the credit in the word, but we must do a better job defensively. Big thanks to our crowd tonight for keeping the intensity on for 40 minutes. It's good to start at home these first three games of the year as we build some confidence with this young and new group."
