Henderson, TN- The Generals made their first road trip of the 2022-2023 season to Henderson, TN to take on the Freed-Hardeman Lions, winning a close one, 93-90.Ā

Jakemin Abney, set the tone for the Generals being able to get on the board first after the tip off against the Lions. Just in the first half of play alone, the Generals shot 11-19 (58%) from the 3-point line. Hot shooting in the first half leads the Generals going into half-time leading the Lions 52-44.Ā

Starting the second half the Lions were able to get into an offensive rhythm outscoring the Generals 46-41. However, the Generals defense was able to get stops and caused 13 of the Lions 23 turnovers in the 2

Overall, the Generals played solid team basketball against the Lions. Leading scorer for the Generals with a new season high was, JD Allen, who had 26 points going 9-13 from the field and 6-9 from the 3-point line.

Another General that deserves mention is, Desmond McQuain, who came off the bench and had a HUGE night going 5-7 from the 3-point line, 7-7 from the free-throw line, and 5-8 from the field totaling in 22 points.Ā When asked about the game McQuain stated, "I think I played well except the fact I had 4 turnovers which I can fix. As a team I think we played great, but we have little things we need to fix and work on. Going into the next game my expectations are to win and do my job to help this team to come out with a victory".
