New Orleans- The LSUA women's basketball team left nothing on the floor tonight, dominating the SUNO Knights and picking up their first win of the 2022-2023 season with a score of 77-45.
Here's what Coach Perkins had to say about the team's win and his first win coaching the Generals, "Great team win today. Very proud of our defensive effort and commitment to rebounding. I had challenged the team this week to increase our assists and share the ball. That challenge became more difficult after losing our point guard early on, but we persevered. We had 23 assists and 4 girls in double figures."
The Generals mentioned that were in double figures tonight include
Raegan Ojoro with 11 points, Alex Harrison with 16 points,
Payton Miller with 11 points, and
Gracelyn Adams with 16 points. The Generals shot 41% overall. However, as Coach Perkins mentioned, the General's also played great defense tonight, holding SUNO to only 7 points in the first quarter and out rebounding the Knights 56-45. In addtion, to being big on the glass, the Generals also had 12 steals lead by
Gracelyn Adams and
Amani Gray with 3 each, and 5 blocks lead by Hannah Cornelious with 2.
The Generals will be back in action at home in The Fort, November 22
nd at 5:00 PM taking on Loyola.
