Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Generals Pick Up Conference Win

The Generals played their second game of the 2022-2023 basketball game on their home turf at The Fort after weeks of being on the road, against the Paul Quinn Tigers. The Generals were able to come out with the win, defending The Fort, 90-78.

Despite the win, the scrappy, Paul Quinn Tigers did not go down without a fight. The Generals led the entire first quarter up until the last 4 minutes before the Tigers gained control of the game going into the second quarter leading 21-20. The Tigers were able to maintain the lead until Alex Harrison tied the game 29-29 with 6:06 left in the second quarter. From that point on Generals were able to maintain their lead and go on a big run securing their conference win.

Leading scorer for the Generals, with a career high at LSUA of 28 points, was Alex Harrison. Harrison was on fire shooting 10-15 from the field, and 5-6 from the three-point range. Coming in right behind Harrison, was Amani Gray who was also able to contribute 23 points of her own, going 7-15 from the field and 3-4 from three.

Coach Perkins stated that he was, "Really proud of the team's effort, and there were players diving on the floor for balls and other players that were constantly making key plays to keep the momentum going for the team".

The Generals will be back at home for more conference play taking on Texarkana, December 17th at 2:00 PM.
