Shreveport, LA- The LSUA Generals, now 0-3 in conference, took a trip to take on rival, LSUS. After a long hard battle that showed, both heart and fight from the Generals, they came up short to LSUS 60-64.Â

The Generals started out the game with a triple from
Amani Gray, and then went on a 7-0 run before the Pilots answered back. The Generals held on to the lead for almost the entire 1
st period until there was 2:37 left and a few turnovers from the Generals lead to the Pilots taking the lead and going on a run of their own. Generals ended up trailing 17-24 after the 1
st period but battled back in the 2
nd period going into halftime tied with the Pilots at 34 points.Â

Coming out of halftime the Generals and Pilots battled, but it wasn't until the 4
th period that the Generals were able to regain the lead at 55-54 with 6:07 left to play. Generals held that lead until there was 4:31 left, when a bucket from Pilots, Kiara Collins put them ahead. Pilots were able to seal the deal after that.

"The girls fought hard tonight, and really played good as a team, "said Perkins, "I was very proud of our effort and their willingness to keep working throughout the whole game".

Generals shot a 42.6% compared to Shreveport's, 39%. Leading scorers for the Generals were point guard,
Dannah Martin-Hartwick with 15 points, and
Amani Gray with 13 points. Gray was also able to grab 7 of the General's 33 boards, along with
Alex Harrison who also had 7 boards.Â

The Generals will be at home next taking on Paul Quinn for more conference play on December 15
th with tip off set for 5:00 PM.Â
