ALEXANDRIA, LA-After a 98-83 victory over the Mustangs of the University of the Southwest, the Generals have improved to a 4-4 overall record, and are now 2-1 in Red River Athletic Conference play.
The Generals had the crowd anxious as they came out slow during the first half of play, falling into a double-digit deficit. The Generals began chipping away at the Southwest lead with seven minutes left before going into halftime, however, it was a clutch 3-point shot from
EJ McQuillan that got the momentum going as the Generals began to thaw out and heat up.
Coming out of halftime still trailing 39-45, these next 20 minutes of play would be crucial for the Generals. As the Generals poured in 59 points during the second half of play, they were able to ride off with the win.
No surprise,
Kashie Natt, added yet another double-double to his career stats going for 16 points and 13 rebounds and freshman,
EJ McQuillan put on a show as well. McQuillan led in scoring with 24 points and had six assists on the night.
The Generals will be back at home for more conference play against Paul Quinn. Tip off on Saturday, December 16
th is set for 4:00 PM.
