STERLINGTON, LA - The Generals win three in a row at Cajun Collision
In game one, the Generals faced a very strong Central Methodist team, but managed to come out on top in a close battle. The Generals had a fast start to the game. At the bottom of the first, Cameron Daigle singled to the short stop, which allowed Zach Mengarelli to score. Jordan Ardoin then doubled to left field which allowed Cameron Daigle to get home. Jordan Ardoin then got home himself to make it 3-0 to the Generals after the first inning.
At the top of the third, Sears hit a home run for the Eagles, but that was the only score that they were able to make in the first 4 innings. At the bottom of the fourth, Blaise Foote answered with a homer of his own which made it 4-1 to the Generals. At the bottom of the 5th, the Generals looked like they were running away with the game, as Cameron Daigle grounded out to the short stop, and Julien Kliebert scored to make it 5-2, but the next inning was chaotic.
Out of nowhere, the Eagles began to make some big plays, and they managed to take a 5-6 lead at the top of the 6th. This resurgence shocked everyone, but it inspired the Generals for the bottom of the 6th. Jordan Ardoin answered emphatically as he homered to center field to make it 6-6. Joshua Tinnerello followed Jordan Ardoin with a home run of his own, which also allowed Alex Guilbeau to score, which made it 8-6 to the Generals.
After such a chaotic 6th inning, the 7th inning was scoreless which gave the Generals a fantastic victory. Seth Trahan was the stand out pitcher of the game.
In Game two, the Generals had a much more comfortable victory against Benedictine College. After two and a half scoreless innings, the Generals broke the dead lock as Cameron Daigle doubled to left field and Zach Mengarelli got home to make it 1-0 at the bottom of the 3rd. Blaise Foote then grounded out to second base which allowed Cameron Daigle to score and make it 2-0 after three innings.
The last scores of the game came in the bottom of the 4th. Bryson Broussard stepped up and hit a huge home run to make it 3-0. Zach Mengarelli then singled to left field which allowed Peyton Marcantel to get home. Sloan Greaves pitched a flawless 7 innings for the Generals. The Game finished 4-0 which capped off a brilliant day for the Generals.
Next up for the Generals is another Cajun Collision game against the University of Science and Arts Oklahoma on Sunday February 12th at 2:30pm.
