ALEXANDRIA, LA- The Generals Take One Victory in Dramatic Weekend
It was a tough weekend in Alexandria where results could have gone either way. LCU (10-5, 3-2) were able to take game 1 and 3 of the series, and LSUA (9-8, 2-4) were able to take game 2. With the sun beaming down on the campus of LSUA, emotions were high and the stakes were huge. LSUA vs LCU is one of the biggest rivalry games in the Red River conference, and both teams delivered some great baseball.
Game 1:
After a scoreless first inning, LSUA were able to take the lead in the bottom of the 2
nd.
Jordan Ardoin singled to right field and
Blaise Foote got home to make it 1-0. The Generals' lead did not last long as LCU scored 3 times in the top of the 3
rd to make it 1-3. LSUA were able to reply with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the 4
th.
Joshua Tinnerello stepped up and smashed a homer to right field, which allowed
Jordan Ardoin to get home with him. At 3-3 spectators knew there was a good finish in store. Unfortunately, LCU provided the stronger finish, and the Wildcats were able to take a 3-5 victory.

Game 2:
Game two was the only one-sided game of the weekend. LSUA took a 3 run lead in the first inning and never looked back.
Jordan Ardoin stepped up and doubled to left field, which led to
Cameron Daigle and
Zach Mengarelli to sprint home successfully.
Slone Greaves pitched 5.2 brilliant innings, which kept LCU scoreless, and gave LSUA a chance to increase their lead. At the bottom of the 3rd, LSUA produced a batting clinic.
Blaise Foote stepped up first to hammer a home run to right field which made it 4-0 to the Generals.
Bryson Broussard then hit a huge homer himself, which enabled
Keith McKigney and
Peyton Marcantel to score. The brilliant
Blaise Foote was also able to score at the bottom of the 6
th. At 8-0 in LSUA's favor, the game was as good as over. LCU were able to score a couple of late runs, but LSUA took home a comfortable victory to tie the Saturday series.

Game 3:
Sunday's Game 3 proved to be the most exciting of them all. The Generals started strong once again by racing into a 2-0 lead at the bottom of the 1
st.
Bryson Broussard homered to right field and
Zach Mengarelli scored. That lead last until the top of the 3
rd when LCU were able to score 5 runs to make it 2-5. LCU scored one run at the top of the 5
th, but LSUA replied at the bottom of the inning as
Bryson Broussard singled to center field and
Julien Kliebert scored. The 6
th inning was identical to the 5
th as both teams traded runs. For the Generals it was a home run that got sent to the moon from
Blaise Foote. At 4-7, spectators knew that once again it was going to be a chaotic finish. At the bottom of the 7
th, an error led to three generals stealing bases, which includes
Zach Mengarelli getting home.
Blaise Foote then flied out to right field for a sacrifice fly to allow
Bryson Broussard to score. At 6-7, the Generals had several chances to take the victory, but some strong LCU pitching prevented the comeback. LCU ran out with a narrow 6-7 victory.
Next up for the Generals is a home game against William Carey on Wednesday, March 1st, at 4:00 PM.
