ALEXANDRIA, LA- The Generals fall short to William Carey in crazy high scoring game.Â
William Carey are always a tough test for the Generals, but the Generals were able to score more times than any other opponent against the Crusaders.Â
William Carey were first to bat, and they instantly scored 2 runs in the top of the 1st. LSUAÂ could have felt the early pressure, but they responded emphatically in the bottom of the 1st.
Blaise Foote stepped up and singled to right field, which allowed
Cameron Daigle and
Zach Mengarelli to score and make it 2-2.
Bryson Broussard was next to bat and he tripled to right field, which allowed
Blaise Foote to score.
Bryson Broussard then got home himself, as he scored on a passed ball to make it 4-2 to the Generals.
William Carey scored once in the 2rd inning with no reply, and the 3rd inning was scoreless for both teams after some good pitching all round. William Carey then stormed into the lead by scoring 5 times in the top of the 4th to make it 4-8. Thankfully the generals found a way to answer immediately.
Julien Kliebert hit a single but he advanced to second from a William Carey error. This sequence allowed
Jacob Martin and
Joshua Tinnerello to score and make it 6-8.
Julien Kliebert then went on to score himself to make it 7-8.
William Carey once again tried to take over by scoring 4 times in the top of the 5th to make it 7-12, but once again LSUA had an answer.
Cameron Daigle scored first for the Generals to make it 8-12. Bryson Brossard then walked to first base, and
Jordan Ardoin then stepped up to bat and hit a bomb of a home run to make it 10-12. William Carey and LSUA traded one run each in the 6th inning to make it 11-13.
It was the top of the 7th when William Carey put the nail in the coffin. The Crusaders scored an outrageous 7 times, to end all hope of an LSUA comeback. In the last 3 innings,
Joshua Tinnerello (twice),
Peyton Marcantel and
Jacob Martin all managed to score runs for the Generals, but the Crusaders ran out with a 15-20 victory.Â
