Red River Rivals Take First Two from Generals

PINEVILLE, LA- The Generals officially kicked off their conference run starting with cross town Red River Rivals, the Wildcats of Louisiana Christian University.Ā

GAME ONE- LSUA 0, LCU 7
Ā 
The Generals took the first game to the chin as the Wildcats produced six of their seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and their freshman pitcher, Arlee Darbonne, was able to pitch a shutout against the Generals.Ā 
Ā 
GAME TWO- LSUA 4, LCU 6
Ā 
The Generals began to get rolling in game two as Tia Holmes was hot at the plate as she doubled to left field in the first inning scoring Howell and putting the Generals on the board. LCU able to match the Generals as they scored one to match, but then along came Holmes once again in the third inning as her single to left field drove in Amber Giddens making it a 2-1 game in favor of the Generals.Ā

As the battle between the two teams continued in later innings, the Wildcats were able to tie things up after adding a run in the 5thĀ and 6thĀ inning after McMahon and Fontenot helped bring in two Generals in the 4thĀ and 6th.Ā

Tied up 4-4, both teams were able to keep each other from touching home in the 7thĀ inning, but in the 8th, Wildcats Coaker, spoiled the Generals chances to take game two as she homered to center field making it a 2 RBI.

The Generals will be back in action for more conference play as they travel to Texarkana, TX on Tuesday March 14th, for double-header action against the Eagles of TAMUT.Ā Ā The first pitch is set for 2:00 PM.Ā
