Generals Complete Sweep with 2 Sunday Victories

Alexandria, LA- Generals Complete Sweep with 2 Sunday Victories

The Generals played three good games this week to get back on track in the Red River Conference. On Saturday, the Generals took a 1-0 lead in the series, and the momentum carried into Sunday.

Game one on Sunday started slowly, and there were no runs scored until the bottom of the 3rd. Zach Mengarelli, Cameron Daigle and Blaise Foote all scored on separate plays to give LSUA a 3-0 advantage. What followed was an incredible series of events that led to a LSUA Grand Slam. Keegan Garcia stepped up and hit a bomb of a home run, which got Joshua Tinnerello, Jack Whitaker and Jordan Ardoin home. This fantastic play gave LSUA a 7-0 Lead. That was it in terms of scoring until the top of the 6th, when Jarvis got 5 runs back. Jarvis threatened a comeback, but the final score was LSUA 7-5 Jarvis. Slone Greaves was the pitcher of the day for LSUA.

LSUA started much stronger in game two by taking a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st. The bases were loaded, Joshua Tinnerello walked and Cameron Daigle scored. Dominic Thibodeaux then reached first on an error which allowed Blaise Foote to score. That was all in terms of scoring until the bottom of the 4th when LSUA doubled their advantage. Jordan Ardoin hit a huge home run that also got Blaise Foote home and made the game 4-0. Jarvis got it back to 4-2 by the top of the 8th. In the bottom of the 8th Dominic Thibodeaux scored off an Alex Guilbeau single to make it 5-2. This was the last score of the game that topped off a good weekend for the Generals. William Vice and Brandon Noel shared the pitching for the Generals and only gave up 1 run each.

Next up for the Generals is a trip to Natchitoches, LA as they take on Northwestern State. First pitch is set for 4:00 PM on Tuesday, March 21st.
